Cyreous Quotes

An Opportunity to Critically Reflect on the Best Words Ever Written

Library Explained

My library on this web site is a repository of all the quotes, proverbs and idioms and I have used so far and published through the domain name cyreousquotes.com. The reason for a library is mainly because of your requests.. I have received multiple emails from subscribers requesting a new quote, or wanting to go back and visit an old quote or sometimes they wanted to re-argue (or discuss) the meaning or debate my editorials I share after the quote. I find that astonishing and I am thrilled that my quotes are doing just what they were meant to do: to create discussions, questioning assumptions, beliefs and values, and considering multiple points of view, and seeking to verify reasoning. Thus I am encouraging transformative learning myself through this web site.

I have compiled the quotes by month and listed them on the website in the MS table format using Microsoft Word Tables. I made it so easy to copy the tables and use them for whatever reason pleases you.

I began Cyreous Quotes in January of 2006. I published 422 quotes many with editorials; a cocktail of comments from either myself or students of mine from classrooms across the country. I did this until I was interrupted for personal reasons in February 2007. After a 5 month hiatus I began re-publishing in August of 2007.

There were many supporting friends that told me they missed the quotes. One person cried on the telephone and said: "What will I do now?" Another insisted to pay for the production of the website. Another dear friend from Utah told me that she uses my quotes with her classes and fears she would not find another source with such empowering ideas as mine. I took up re-mailing to my humble subscriber list of 46.

These 46 names came about solely from word of mouth advertising; one friend telling another. The list is up to 75 names now. If you are getting something from these quotes please do tell others. That is how I gain subscriptions. Tell me. Use the subscriber list to communicate with me or just email me your thoughts.

I promise to not sell any names or email addresses on my subscriber list and I take great care to make sure that your email or name does not appear anywhere. I mail my weekday quotes to a single address listed to me and I blind copy everyone so no-one can see the personal information that you hold sacred and dear. You will see a privacy policy soon on the site.

If you wish to browse you may begin with clicking on the link library to begin; or if you prefer you can search for a quote by using the search feature on any page that has the search window.

Browsing the Library

Click on LIBRARY to visit our library of quotes - a table listing the years and subsequent months appears. Choose a month by clicking on the month where the quote you are looking for is likely listed.

The list includes quote, author, my editorial or someone who shared their take on the quote, and the date it was published on this website and likely sent to you in an email. You will not see your quotes displayed the way you did on the day you saw it as the quote of the day, but you will see the listing indexed in a table format.

Let's say you remember a word in a quote you saw on this website and you want to find that quote again. Simply type the word into the search engine and click on the submit button and you will be taken to a results page.

Results: More precisely what you will see after you hit submit is a new page that will show you a link (or links) to your page(s) that contains your word or phrase you submitted for search. This simple search engine is not designed to be more sophisticated than that. The page links refer to the  pages containing the quotes which are listed on a table on that page.
